Corinne Merla has been a lawyer at the Brussels Bar since 1996. She advises a wide range of pension funds, insurance companies and Belgian and international corporations in both the private and public sectors in the fields of statutory and occupational pensions and other providential schemes. Her expertise covers both employment, tax and providential aspects and the legislation governing insurance, pension funds and corporate governance. She acts as the compliance officer for a number of pension funds. She has written several reference works on occupational pensions. Corinne is a member of the IPEBLA (International Pension & Employee Benefit Lawyers Association) and the AJPDS and a founder member of the BePLA (Belgian Pension Lawyers Association). She holds a licentiate in law from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL, 1995) and an additional licentiate in social law from the University of Brussels (ULB, 1996).
